The Malwala Co-operative Thrift and Credit Society (Sanasa) has been a cornerstone of local financial empowerment since its inception in the early 20th century.
Started with just ten determined members on October 1933, the society has grown resiliently through decades of economic shifts. Officially registered on April 25, 1934, and gazetted on May 25, 1934, under Gazette No. 8052 (signed in Kandy by State Secretary C.C. Woolley), we have evolved from a simple thrift union into a highly structured banking institution.
Today, with total assets exceeding 279 Million LKR and thousands of active members, we stand as the strongest voluntary society in Malwala.
මල්වල සණස සමිතිය යනු 20 වන සියවසේ මුල් භාගයේ සිට ප්රාදේශීය මූල්ය සවිබල ගැන්වීමේ මූලික පදනමයි.
1933 ඔක්තෝබර් මස සාමාජිකයින් දස දෙනෙකුගෙන් ආරම්භ කරන ලද මල්වල එක්සත් සහකාර සමිතිය 1934.04.25 වන දින ලියාපදිංචි කරනු ලැබූ අතර, එය ලංකා රජයේ ගැසට් පත්රයේ 1934.05.25 වන දින අංක 8052 යටතේ ගැසට් කරනු ලැබ ඇත. මේ සඳහා රාජ්ය ලේකම් සී.සී වූලි මහතා නුවරදී අත්සන් තබා ඇත.

Founded as the Malwala United Cooperative Society with just 10 members.

Reorganized as the Malwala Co-operative Thrift and Credit Society Ltd with limited liability. Officially established as a cooperative bank on March 10, 1985.

Fully computerized all banking accounts and operations on January 10, 2008, to provide highly efficient, modern services to members.
2008 ජනවාරි 10 වන දින සිට සමිතියේ සියලු ගිණුම් කටයුතු පරිගණක ඇසුරින් කිරීම ආරම්භ කරමින් ඩිජිටල්කරණය වීම.
Assets grew to 260 Million LKR (reaching 279M currently). Completed the modernization of the ground floor banking hall and the first floor event/meeting room.
